ACP Solidarity Crucial - Gabon
Solidarity between the African Caribbean Pacific (ACP) group of countries as a whole is important for member countries, said the Vice-President of the Republic of Gabon, His Excellency Didjob Divungi Dindinge, during a courtesy call on Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase, at Denarau, Nadi this morning.
H.E. Dindinge emphasized that this solidarity is as important as solidarity between individual member countries of the ACP Group.
This is why it is important to develop better relations between Fiji and Gabon, H.E. Dindinge said.
There is a will between the two countries to have a special relationship with each other and we are convinced that such a relationship at the political, economic and cultural level is possible.
He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation at the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation in Fiji.
H.E. Dindinge also expressed greetings sent by the President of Gabon, which was warmly welcomed by Mr. Qarase.
H.E. Dindinge congratulated Mr. Qarase on Fijis hosting of the 3rd Summit of the African Caribbean Pacific (ACP) Leaders and Heads of State, saying this Summit will make the ACP stronger.
The first ACP Heads of State and Leaders Summit was held in Libreville, Gabon.
Mr. Qarase reiterated the importance and existence of the solidarity and unity within the ACP group and wished the Gabon delegation well in the Summit, as well as in their bilateral talks with other ACP member countries.
