No: 654 - ACP SECRETARIAT RECEIVE FURTHER CONFIRMATIONS
The African Caribbean Pacific (ACP) Secretariat in Brussels continues to receive confirmations from ACP members on their attendance for the July Leader's Summit in Nadi.
Co-deputy Chairman of the Operations and Planning Committee (OPOC) Isimeli Bainimara received confirmations from the Brussels headquarters today of Samoa and the South African's delegation attendance.
He said the committee would be finalising attendance details this weekend before submitting it to hoteliers in the Western division to confirm bookings as agreed.
Sheraton Fiji the meeting venue will free up 25 per cent of its rooms including conference facilities on Monday when the physical preparations will begin.
"We will be working throughout this weekend since Brussels has notified us of their expectation that confirmations will flow in and by Monday we will be prepared with what the hoteliers want," said Mr Bainimara.
He explained that preparations to the summit hall and its secretariat, likewise the media facility will begin on Monday when Sheraton Fiji gives up the allocated areas.
Meanwhile, OPOC chairman, Emitai Boladuadua will return from Brussels this weekend after submitting the summit budget along with preparation details.
Samoa and South Africa's confirmations bring the total number of confirmed attendants to 18.
