No: 139 - FIJI BEST VENUE FOR SUMMIT ACP SECRETARY GENERAL

Fiji is the best venue to host the third ACP (African Caribbean Pacific) Heads of States and Government Summit, said ACP Secretary-General, His Excellency Jean-Robert Goulongana.

Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Mr Goulongana said Fiji has in place all the institutions needed for the Summit.

The Secretary-General said he was delighted with Fiji’s preparation and enthusiasm for the African Caribbean Pacific (ACP) Heads of States and Government Summit to be held in Fiji later this year (July 12-13th,)

He said throughout his two day meetings in Fiji, he has been assured that the Fiji Summit will be a complete success.

Mr Goulongana has had a series of meetings with senior government officials as well officials from the European Commission on the upcoming Summit.

He will conclude his meetings with a meeting with Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase tomorrow morning.
